"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)

The words of the Lord Jesus to Nicodemus, a deeply religious man

"Ye must be born again" (John 3:7)

Comes to man through believing the Gospel

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." (Romans 1:16)

The appointed time to accept God's gift of salvation is Now

"..behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2)

The result of trust in the Lord Jesus Christ

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation..." (Ephesians 1:13)

Comes through hearing and believing God's word which reveals the Lord Jesus as the only Saviour

It is provided by God's grace as a free gift to all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Consequences of rejecting God's salvation are unthinkable

"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation..." (Hebrews 2:3)

Salvation has been provided through God's grace, not willing that any should be perish

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
